Todd Cordell
1. Carey Price - He posted an absurd .933SV% in 2014-15 and owned a .934SV% through 12 games last season prior to going down with injury. I worry he won't come back as strong following his knee injury but he's earned the No. 1 spot until proven otherwise.
2. Cory Schneider - Over the last two seasons Cory Schneider leads the league in save percentage (minimum 100 games) and is 2nd in quality start percentage. People don't appreciate just how good he is.
3. Henrik Lundqvist - The New York Rangers' defense isn't close to as good as it's perceived to be yet Lundqvist consistently posts excellent numbers. He is incredible.
4. Braden Holtby - Last season's Vezina winner has more quality starts than anyone over the last couple years.
5. Corey Crawford - He has posted a .924SV% in back-to-back seasons and is a big reason why Chicago won as many games as they did last year. They weren't great in front of him; especially at 5 v 5.
Honorable mention: Steve Mason. He's awesome despite all the garbage people write about him.
James Tanner 1. Henrik Lundqvist
He has almost single-handedly made the Rangers a good team for the last decade +. He's 34, but like Datsyuk or Thornton, that doesn't seem to matter.
2. Carey Price
An injury riddled year last season, cost the Canadiens a playoff spot, but the year prior was so good I will continue to rank him highly until he shows otherwise.
3. Cory Schneider
I wouldn't argue with anyone who wanted to rank him #1
4. Tuukka Rask
Wasn't the best year for him last season, but his history an elite goalie boads well for continued success.
5. Braden Holtby
Impossible to keep him off this last after last season.
Peter Tessier #5 Cory Schneider because the guy gets no love, plays on New Jersey and is 30 and posted a .929 EV strength save percentage
#4 Roberto Loungo because the guy is an ageless wonder in some ways putting up career numbers again while playing the 9th most minutes last year
#3 Steve Mason because he's pretty damn good and one would have to wonder where the Flyers would be without his play, certainly not the post season without his .935 EV strength save percentage.
#2 Braden Holtby because he played the 4th most minutes and had the 6th best EV Strength save percentage and is like ice when between the pipes.
#1 Henrik Lundqvist because what more can be said about the guy with what plays in front of him? He posts top numbers year after year and has had a hot mess of change and desperate attempts to win the cup piled up at the same time.
