Hotstove: Is It Time To Panic In Columbus? (Blue Jackets)

The Columbus Blue Jackets are 0-6-0 and have looked terrible almost every night thus far. In this edition of the hotstove we discuss whether it's time to panic in Columbus.

Todd Cordell If the Blue Jackets aren't in panic mode right now they're not far off from reaching that point.

It's a long season but it's harder than ever to gain ground on teams in a playoff race so falling behind the 8-ball early could be too much to overcome.

Columbus is dangerously close to doing just that as they've played six games (tied for a league-high) and have zero points in the standings to show for it.

I think it is time to panic in Columbus because if they don't right the ship within the next couple games their season will be over before it really gets started.

James Tanner I don't know if it's time to necessarily panic, but it is probably always for the best to make a coaching change when things get this bad.

It was always a mystery to me why they were considered such a good team when Foligno has almost zero chance to repeat what he did, Saad probably isn't a main guy and Johansen is somewhat overrated. (Everyone always calls him a 'prototypical number one centre' but his 5v5 career statistics don't really say that).

Not to mention this team employs both Hartnell and Clarkson.

Overall, they shouldn't panic and like put Bobrovsky on waivers, but firing Richards wouldn't really be a panic move at this point but rather a logic move.
