After a lengthy holdout Jacob Trouba finally returned to the Winnipeg Jets on a two-year deal worth $3 million per.

Todd Cordell I think Trouba will be traded in the off-season.
Right now the Jets really need Trouba and, with him under contract, time is on their side to make a deal. They can hang onto him for a while and he'll still be motivated to play well because he's playing for his next contract and he wants it to be a big one.
I think the Jets have a better chance of getting the kind of return they want for Trouba in the off-season, and in the event they don't get what they want (a young, top-4 left handed defenseman), they can accept other quality assets and try to find some sort of replacement in free agency.
Peter Tessier If a trade happens it happens quickly or it's going to take some time. Oh how bold Tessier. This is true though because in the past with Overhardt clients the trade was soon or it took some time but believe one thing, a trade is coming.
My best guess is with the cap friendly deal and it being for two years with another RFA restriction the best time is after the season is over but before the expansion draft. If Trouba is protected and not traded by them expect it not long after UFA period starts.
James Tanner To have a player that good on such a cheap contract gives the Jets huge flexibility. There is no way they should trade him now.
