After taking a commanding 3-1 series lead, the Washington Capitals have dropped consecutive games to the New York Rangers, and are forced to play Game 7 in New York.
In this edition hotstove members share their picks for the only Game 7 of the 2nd round.
Todd Cordell I picked the Caps in 7, and I'm sticking to it.
The Caps dominated Game 6, so it's not as if they're stumbling into this game playing terrible hockey.
Not that he deserves it, but Alex Ovechkin will never hear the end of it if the Caps lose tonight, which is why I'm expecting a big game from him in a winning effort.
Michael Stuart I'm going with the Capitals, simply because my original pick had them winning in seven games.
In all seriousness, this is such a coin toss. There's no right or wrong answer. Both goaltenders are phenomenal. Both teams have players who can put the puck in the net. Picking a winner in what could very well be a 1-0 game seems like a difficult task. So, Capitals in seven. I want my original pick to look like a smart one.
James Tanner Caps baby. One word: Ovechkin.
