Greening Clears Waivers; Doing The Lineup Shuffle (Senators)

As expected, Colin Greening has cleared waivers and will likely be sent to Binghamton either today or tomorrow ahead of the Senators game against the Stars, which will open up a spot on the roster for Mark Borowiecki to return to the lineup following his gruesome leg injury.

As the Senators continue to practice and prepare for Jason Spezz's Thursday return to CTC, Dave Cameron has shuffled up the forward lines in a rather peculiar fashion.

The lines at practice today (and yesterday) were

McArthur - Zibanejad - Ryan Michalek - Turris - Stone Hoffman - Pageau - Lazar Neil - Legwand - Condra

Maybe the shuffle is to try and jumpstart some struggling players, but breaking up the Hoffman-Zibanejad-Ryan line that was so good in the past few games is interesting. Whatever line Hoffman has been on has had success for the most part this season, and pairing him with a couple of kids should be fun to watch. That line brings a lot of speed and tenacity, and the finishing ability of Hoffman might complement the young duo.

Splitting up McArthur and Turris, a combination that has been so good at times and almost invisible at others was almost inevitable, but I have no doubt they will be back together fairly soon.

On the blue line, Methot is with Karlsson and Ceci with Cowen, and with 8 blueliners healthy the other two combinations were Borowiecki and Wiercioch along with Phillips and Gryba.

Robin Lehner is scheduled to get the start, which is also another interesting development. Are the Sens going to give Lehner a run to see if he can assert himself in the crease, with an eye toward possibly dealing Craig Anderson before the deadline if he shows well? With just 4 1/2 weeks until deadline day, decisions are coming fast due.
