It doesn't matter how many times it gets discussed among fans, written about here or analyzed by pundits; the Ducks fall victim to the same self destructive issues over and over. Today's outside the box expert commentary is from the band Lit:
It's no surprise to me I am my own worst enemy 'Cause every now and then I kick the living s**t out of me
Their keys to victory are the same today as they have been all season and beyond.
1) Hold on to the puck 2) Play smart 3) Stay out of the penalty box 4) Take the game to the opponent
At least, they started to do four Sunday night. Numbers one through three are still in need of work. Unfortunately, there is no time left for Anaheim to iron it out. Either they play smart disciplined hockey tonight or they can start dusting off the short irons.
Game 3: Ducks @ Nashville
As expected Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau turns to Frederik Andersen to tend the Anaheim goal. John Gibson didn't play poorly in the first two games, but he was that great either. On the blueline, the same six from Sunday return tonight. Up front there will be one change Shawn Horcoff will tag in for Chris Wagner on the 4th line. Here is your lineup:
Forwards Perron-Getzlaf-Stewart McGinn-Rakell-Perry Cogliano-Kesler-Silfverberg Horcoff-Thompson-Garbutt
Defense Fowler-Despres Lindholm-Bieksa Theodore-Vatanen
Goalies Andersen Gibson
