G8 New Jersey Devils @ Buffalo Sabres: Staying Hot (NHL)

After dropping their first three games the New Jersey Devils have picked up a point in four in a row and won three straight in the process.

They'll be looking for that trend to continue against a struggling Buffalo Sabres team.

The Sabres enter tonight's contest having won just two of their first seven games. The biggest reason for that is a lack of offense as they've surprisingly scored just 13 goals in seven games (1.85 per).

New Jersey will be hoping their offense remains stagnant for at least one more game. Luckily for them they have Cory Schneider between the pipes to help them do so.

KEYS TO THE GAME 1) Discipline. Buffalo's offense is struggling mightily right now. Don't make it easy on them by spoon feeding power play opportunities.

2) Full-strength play. New Jersey's 5 vs 5 goals for percentage is 33. Buffalo's 5 vs 5 goals for percentage is 31.6. The team that wins the full-strength battle will probably come out on top.

3) Stopping No. 15. Jack Eichel has just two points this season but he's registered 22 shots on goal and is probably due for a breakout. The Devils need to make sure they take away his time and space. If they don't Eichel will make them pay.
