G70 Calgary Flames vs Winnipeg Jets: Taking Flight (Jets)

Fresh off an impressive win over St. Louis the Calgary Flames will be looking for more of the same tonight as they play host to the Winnipeg Jets.

The Jets, like the Flames, have had their share of struggles this season owning an identical 29-35-5 record heading into tonight's game.

Although their records are horrible, and both teams sit in the NHL's bottom-5, each side has been playing better of late.

The Flames have won three of five and significantly out played San Jose in what was one of their two losses. Meanwhile the Jets have won two in a row against Colorado and Vancouver respectively.

At this point losses would help each squad more than wins so it'll be interesting to see who comes out on top and just how much this game impacts their eventual draft positioning.

Notes

1) Sean Monahan has been an absolute force of late tallying five points and 20(!) scoring chances over his last four games.

2) Marko Dano took a little bit of time to find his footing in Winnipeg but he's rolling now having tallied five points and 12 scoring chances in his last four games. He's really starting to settle in with the Jets.

3) Mark Scheifele is another guy the Flames will have to watch closely. He's been as good as anyone in hockey of late tallying 12 points in his last eight games.

The game is at 10:00 eastern and can be seen on Sportsnet-West and TSN3.
