Leading up to the draft the Calgary Flames made (arguably) the splash of the off-season acquiring 22-year-old defenseman Dougie Hamilton from the Boston Bruins.
The Bruins were a cap strapped team and didn't seem fond of committing to Hamilton long-term with a big money contract.
As such the Bruins flipped him to the highest bidder, Calgary, for a 1st round pick and a pair of 2nd rounders.
To this point Hamilton hasn't been as good as expected but, as a whole, his play this season has been better than he's been given credit for; especially of late.
With the Flames in desperate need of points and his former team in town there would be no better time for him to have a big game. LINEUPS Gaudreau - Monahan - Hudler Bennett - Backlund - Frolik Colborne - Stajan - Jones Ferland - Granlund - Jooris
