Calgary 3 – Ducks 5
Five goals for the Ducks last night and the captain, Ryan Getzlaf, assisted on all of them. Coach Bruce Boudreau was impressed with Getzlaf's game. He told Ducks.com, “when he plays like that, he's unstoppable.… Anaheim also converted on two of two power play opportunities with Corey Perry scoring both man advantage goals. Perhaps the bigger story was goalie John Gibson. Halfway through the first period, Gibson replaced ineffective starter Anton Khudobin. He was outstanding stopping 19 of the 20 shots he faced. The fans wanted to see Gibson during his call up and they were not disappointed.
Your Thoughts
Obviously the Ducks have had a rocky start to the season. Put yourself in General Manager Bob Murray's place. What changes would you make? Keep in mind this is the real world, there are personalities, contracts and budgets to consider. I'll use the best comments in the next blog.
Ducks @ Arizona
The Coyotes have had Anaheim's number this season, winning the first two matchups. Rookies Max Domi and Anthony Duclair have given the Ducks fits. The pair will need to be kept in check in order to secure a road win.
Incumbent goalie Frederick Andersen did not make the trip to Glendale, due to his lingering illness. A starter in goal has not been named yet. Boudreau could go with with either Anton Khudobin or Gibson. The rest of the lineup should be unchanged from last night.
