Fantasy – Weekly Outlook + Injuries + Starting Goalies (fantasy)

Mid-November is a good time of the year to assess your team and begin to make some bold changes if you’re struggling. Of course it’s almost always best to hold onto your best assets (your top three players picked); but sometimes you have to give to get.

My suggestions would be, take a look at your roster and compare your overall stats to whoever’s in first place. If it’s a head to head fantasy setup and your matchups have been unlucky with you having productive weeks but still coming up short; you’re still in good shape and I wouldn’t worry too much. But if you are lacking scoring, goaltending or a specific category you really want to improve then prepare yourself to make some roster adjustments. The odds are; you are not going to win your pool if you are not active and making your team better as the season goes. There is always room for improvement!

With that being said, if you are in the gutter in one of your fantasy pools, keep one thing in mind before you blow it up. There is still sixty plus games left in the season and a lot of time left for big name players to turn around a slow start. A few big games and boom confidence is regained as is the scoring touch, so be wise when making these deals.

I’d say your best bet is to look at trading with whoever is at the top or near the top of your pool in the standings. They may be a good trading partner unloading some quality middle-ranked players for one higher; which could benefit you quite a bit if you have a few plugs on your team. If you have people who are quite active when it comes to trades; there is also a good chance you could work out a deal with them, just make sure you are improving your team if you make a trade, don’t make one for the sake of making a trade.

As of now the Montreal Canadiens have the most goals for with 67. Dallas is just two goals behind Montreal, with a game in hand. So if you are looking for some offensive output, perhaps looking at a free agent from one of these two teams isn’t such a bad idea.

What’s really astonishing is the lack of goals from Pittsburgh (36), Anaheim (33), Philadelphia (33) and Carolina (35). This will likely change for Pittsburgh and Anaheim, but it seems that Philadelphia and Carolina have some work to do retooling their respected lineups.

Edmonton…tied for last place with Columbus. McDavid can’t return to the lineup soon enough; even with Draisatl being red hot the Oilers just can’t seem to climb out of the trenches.
