Eichel Silences McDavid Fans (sabres)

It's too bad that Connor McDavid is injured. I was so looking forward to watching #97 battle Jack Eichel in their first ever head to head NHL battle.

On Sunday night, Jack did Jack things by metaphorically spraying graffiti on Connor McDavid's house. Eichel is the ultimate alpha dog and he marked his spot inside Rexall Place.

It took Eichel just six minutes to make a statement by scoring his ninth goal of the season in McDavid's house.

Eichel took a perfect pass in the slot from captain Brian Gionta and promptly buried it behind Anders Nilsson.

The Oilers goalie was probably looking for a forehand deke or shot but instead got his wires crossed up when Eichel fired the backhand sauce. We are two months into Eichel's rookie season and we finally get a look see at his heavy backhander, which he scored many goals with at Boston University last season.

Goalies now have to scout Eichel extra and be wary of his forehand and backhand attempts.

Eichel probably ate it up when the Oilers fans booed him after the announcement of the starting lineups. Why the hate, Oiler fan? Is there some buyer's remorse? Are Oilers fans wishing that they selected Eichel instead of McDavid with the first overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft?
