The Oilers have finally been defeated. Edmonton has lost the draft lottery and will select 4th Overall.
I don't think it's breaking too many hearts that the Oilers are out of the top 3, but many fans definitely had been hoping for one of the big Finns.
Now the focus switches to the next tier of prospects and the trade market.
There are still quality prospects available 4th including all of the defenders in the draft. Chychrun, Juolevi, and the rest are all going to be on the board unless someone does something wacky.
As for the trade market, there are some teams looking to make big changes that have the pieces Edmonton wants. The other teams in the top 10 who want to move up or clubs with RHD looking to add a Tkachuk or someone in that 2nd tier should be calling Chiarelli right now.
