Ducks buy Admirals
The Ducks have purchased their AHL affiliate the Norfolk Admirals. Their plan is to move the team to San Diego. The Admirals won't be the lone AHL franchise west of the Rockies. The Kings, Sharks, Oilers and Flames will all be moving their minor league clubs out west. This is a big deal as it will make moving players between the big club and it's affiliate more convenient.
Quick Thoughts on a Big Win
How great was it to see the Ducks play a defensive gem? Holding any NHL opponent to seven shots over two periods is outstanding.
I love the way Corey Perry stuck up for his teammates Tuesday night. After Zack Kassian's cheap shot on Patrick Maroon in the second period, Perry was the first Duck on the scene to challenge Vancouver. It didn't matter that he may be the star of the team, he is first a team guy.
Ducks at Sharks
The Ducks head to the SAP center in San Jose to face the dreaded Sharks. Anaheim comes into this one riding a six game winning streak. Freddy Andersen is back in goal on the heels of his shutout win over Vancouver. Recently, Duck scoring has been spread across the top three lines. Here is tonight's expected lineup:
Forwards Maroon-Getzlaf-Perry Beleskey-Kesler-Palmieri Cogliano-Rakell-Silfverberg Thompson and two of Bourque/Jackman/DSP
Defensemen Fowler-Lovejoy Lindholm-Beauchemin Stoner-Vatanen
Goalies Andersen Bryzgalov
