On Saturday, the Boston Bruins unveiled the jersey they’ll don at Gillette Stadium for their 2016 Winter Classic showdown with the Montreal Canadiens. And to be honest, it looks pretty damn cool.

Maybe it’s just because I’ll always prefer black as a primary color, but this jersey absolutely blows the Bruins’ 2010 Winter Classic jersey out of the water. When you look at the 2010 version against this year’s version, this year’s version looks entirely more Bruins-esque than the former. That cartoonish ‘B’ from 2010 drove me crazy from Day 1, and finally, the Bruins have incorporate their original logo.

New Year’s Day at Gillette will be the second Winter Classic game to feature the Black and Gold -- and the second in Massachusetts -- but the first against the B’s rival Canadiens.

The Habs have yet to unveil their jersey, and you wonder the direction in which Montreal will go.

Given the fact that the famed ‘CH’ has been a staple of Montreal hockey throughout most of their 100-year-plus history, you have to wonder if the Canadiens will revert to some of the ‘CAC’ jerseys you saw during the club’s Centennial Season celebration. (Just hope they leave the prison stripes at home.)
