On Sam Gagner...
Someone is going to get a really good player and highly skilled player here. Sam Gagner wasn't supposed to be a Flyer last year after he was picked up in the salary dump of Chris Pronger. He made the team in camp, then wasn't given a fair shot with any skilled players until injury forced him into the lineup. By the time he made it back into the Flyers line-up he made himself almost indispensable and scored some big goals to help them make the playoffs. I am a bit surprised that the Flyers haven't tried harder to retain Gagner. I keep hearing Columbus, NJ and Ottawa.
On Scott Hartnell...
It looks like if the Jackets retain some salary they can move Hartnell. And here is a guaranteed 20 goal guy with a ton of grit, great in the community, and playoffs... LA and Columbus have been interested for a while now...The Islanders and Preds are also paying close attention...
On Kris Russell....
4 teams...maybe really 2 at this point. I keep hearing Toronto and Boston....Kris Russell is in danger of becoming Cody Franson....The money is running thin. He may have to go with a one year deal...
On Yakupov...
Still hearing Montreal and Philly. The Habs are the leading candidate here, but I continue to hear a possibility of Yakupov for Mark Streit as well. So this could get interesting.
On Ryan Nugent Hopkins...
All indications are he is off the market for the most part...or at least no one is still inquiring. Minnesota came very close to getting him, but I heard they got frustrated waiting to hear from Edmonton...
