After almost 30 years of running the Devils, Lou Lamoriello shockingly announced today that he is out as general manager.
Ray Shero, formerly of the Penguins, has taken over the reigns, and will hold that title going forward.
The Devils needed permission from the Pens to speak to Shero, and will not have to give any compensation in the form of draft picks for hiring him.

Lamoriello said it was his decision and 100 percent supported by ownership.

Shero will have a lot of work to do this summer, as the team needs a new head coach, help in the top-6, and he has to prepare for the biggest draft for the team in years.
