The Coyotes stayed largely away from the insanity yesterday, and that is probably a good thing.
They got their man - Goligoski - a week before the UFA period opened up and that proved to be their biggest splash. What they did yesterday was add depth players and stay away from giving anyone anything too insane.
They signed Jamie McGuinn, who is an alright depth player who won't hurt you. He'll score 20 goals or so and help provide depth scoring.
They re-signed Jarrod Tinordi, they signed Ryan White to a one-year contract. Basically, they just made sure there team had some warm bodies to fill it out.
But they are a team that really and truly will get buried if they try to enter next season as they are currently made up.
They currently have to get rid of Antoine Vermette and Connor Murphy.
They still need a defenseman who fits in between Goligoski and OEL in terms of quality and ability.
They need to get rid of Michalek.
They need a non-rookie, non-sophomore, someone more durable than Hanzal, who can play on their top line.
And they need a goalie.
As of now, they still probably have the worst roster in the NHL.
