Follow @james_tanner123 The Coyotes blew a 2-0 lead and lost their second-to-last game of the 2015-16 season. Shane Doan scored a goal, getting him to an impressive 28 on the season and giving him a shot at hitting 30 Saturday against San Jose.
The offseason will see quite a bit of change - we hope, and also, hopefully some nice surprises - like a new GM or a draft lottery victory.
Either way, I think this season was disappointing because the Coyotes - barring a draft lottery surprise - have failed to get a top five pick. While this came with the benefit of an arguably more exciting team this season, it's not the best thing for the future.
The Coyotes move forward with Strome, Domi, Duclair, OEL and a whole bunch of nice forward prospects but precious little on defense. Honest to God, Jared Tinordi is listed as the team's best defensive prospect on hockeysfuture.com and that should tell you all you need to know.

The question remains, what can Maloney, or hopefully, the new incoming GM do about the team's horrendous blue-line. Would a team like the Hurricanes or Flyers who have a lot of good defense prospects be interested in one of the Coyotes excess forward prospects? Can anyone on the current roster be turned into useful assets?
And speaking of tomorrow, that is the day when I'm going to be the last person who cares to, to see the new Star Wars.
