Could John Moore Return To The Blue Jackets? (Coyotes)

The Blue Jackets entered draft weekend in search of some help on the blue line.

While they added several pieces that will contribute in the future, they were unable to get their hands on a defenseman who can make an immediate impact.

Luckily for them there are some options available in free agency including a player the team is very familiar with.

That would be John Moore, who the Arizona Coyotes unexpectedly decided against qualifying prior to Monday's deadline.

GM Jarmo Kekalainen could look to bring the former Blue Jacket back in the fold, according to Aaron Portzline.

Why would Columbus be interested beyond being familiar with him?

In some people's eyes he has struggled to make his way in the NHL, however, the numbers suggest he has actually been pretty good over the last few years.

Shot suppression isn't Moore's speciality but he's still NHL caliber in that regard.

The offensive side of his game is much better, though, as individually he generates shots at a very high rate and his team does the same while he's on the ice.

He's 6'3', he can skate and his perceived value certainly wouldn't be high after failing to receive a qualifying offer from the Coyotes.

The Blue Jackets are looking for any defense help they can get so I think they'd be smart to give Moore a chance and bring him back to where his NHL career started.
