Capitals Sign Riley Barber to Entry Level Deal (Washington Capitals)

The Washington Capitals have signed Riley Barber out of the Miami University. Barber was the Caps 6th round pick, 167th overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft.

He signs a 3-year entry level deal.

Per Monumental Sports:

Barber "...registered 40 points (20g, 20a) in 39 games with the RedHawks this season, setting a career high in goals. Barber led the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) in shots (180), ranked tied for third in goals and tied for fourth in the conference in points. In addition, Barber registered seven multi-point games and recorded a point in 30 of 38 contests in 2014-15. The 5’11…, 194-pound forward was named the NCHC Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 10 and tallied two assists in the NCHC Tournament title game against St. Cloud State on March 21. Barber finished the 2014-15 season on a nine-game point streak (2/27-3/21: 7g, 6a) and also recorded a seven-game point streak (11/22-1/3: 5g, 5a) during the season."

Barber has also represented the U.S. at the World Juniors in 2012 and the U-18 World Championship with whom he helped win gold medals in both.
