The Calgary Flames will take to the ice against the Minnesota Wild for the first time this season at Scotiabank Saddledome in what should be an exciting night of hockey. The Flames will be hosting 'Alumni Night', with special guest Gary Roberts and fans should be in for a good time.

As mentioned, the Flames and Wild have not gone head to head so far this season, but they did faceoff three times last year, which saw the Wild win two games and the Flames only one.

Entering tonight's contest, the Flames have won five of their past six games, good enough for 55 points and fourth in the Pacific Division. They continue to impress the masses and make a few other Canadian teams jealous who should be, all things considered, having better years.

The Wild, however, currently sit dead last in the Central Division with 48 points and are 3-5-2 in their past ten games. Tonight’s game will be a test for the young team to not take a team for granted and continue with their hard work and dedication.

Look out for Johnny ''Hockey'' Gaudreau who scored two goals in his first game back since the All-Star Break. The young gun is currently good for 15 goals and 22 assists for 37 points. For those keeping track, that’s good for 39th in the league in points. Not bad, I’d say.

Jonas Hiller is expected to get the nod for the Flames. The 32-year-old has played 32 games for Calgary, going 14-13-2, and carries a 2.42 GAA and .912 SV%.

On the other end of the rink, Devan Dubnyk, who made 23 saves in their 2-1 win over Edmonton on Tuesday is expected to get the nod to counter Hiller. Dubnyk was traded to the Wild from Arizona earlier this year and has gone 3-1-0 with the struggling Minnesota team, accumulating a 2.04 GAA and .911 SV% and one shutout.
