As of 12:01 a.m. eastern time Jimmy Vesey's rights will no longer be exclusively held by the Buffalo Sabres and he'll be free to sign with any NHL franchise.
He's not the only college drafted player slated to hit the open market, though, as just after midnight 14 others will also be able to sign with any team they choose.
Among those 14 players are a pair of Calgary Flames prospects in Matthew DeBlouw and John Gilmour.

DeBlouw is a 22-year-old forward who was drafted by the Flames in the 7th round (186th overall) of the 2012 draft.
He has spent the last four seasons at Michigan State where he set his career high in goals (10) and points (21) as a freshman. He has obviously not developed much in recent years and doesn't seem very promising, which is why the Flames won't be signing him in advance of tonight's deadline.
Gilmour is a 23-year-old defenseman who was drafted by the Flames in the 7th round (198th overall) of the 2013 draft.
Like DeBlouw, Gilmour spent the last four seasons playing college hockey. He appears to be a little more promising, though, as he is coming off a respectable nine-goal, 23-point campaign while appearing in 34 games.
I don't think Gilmour's future is overly promising, either, but of the two I think Gilmour is probably more likely to get a professional contract from an NHL team.
Time will tell if that's the case but both players can begin their search for a new home just after midnight.
