— Alison (@AlisonL) January 15, 2016Bob will be dressed for Saturday’s game against Colorado but will be the back-up. Joonas Korpisalo who was fantastic against the Leafs Wednesday will get the start. That game was huge for Korpisalo who up to that point hadn’t played particularly well. I'm not the first one to say this but I think Korpisalo is the backup of the future. Of the goalie prospects he's been the best in the AHL, and looks to be starting to put it together in the NHL.
Looking long term the Jackets have a glut of goalie prospects that look ready to play in the AHL. Between Forsberg, Korpisalo, Oscar Dansk, and Elvis Merzlikins there are not enough spots for each guy. It might not be soon but I could definitely see a goalie trade at some point in the future.
Hannikainen is back after getting hurt in his NHL debut. He's another one of the young guys who should get a long look. He will provide a nice boost to the team’s bottom six, which has been poor of late. He brings that gritty edge to his game while also providing some skill.
