The Calgary Flames snapped their three-game losing-streak on Monday night as they went into Arizona and picked up a 3-2 win over the Coyotes.
The Good
- After a handful of quiet games Sam Bennett broke out in a big way vs the 'Yotes. He scored a pair of goals and was excellent in possession as the Flames out attempted the Coyotes 16-9 at 5 v 5 when No. 93 was on the ice. Bennett wasn't afraid to throw his body around, either. He played a very complete game.

- Joe Colborne tends to take a beating on social media but he has played very well of late and deserves some credit. Over the last eight games Colborne has tallied eight points and 19 scoring chances. That's solid production for anyone.
- In his first game as a Calgary Flame - and 2nd NHL game - Hunter Shinkaruk recorded the first point of his career as he tallied an assist on T.J. Brodie's goal. He also registered a couple hits - including a big one on Max Domi - while logging almost 15 minutes of ice. There haven't been a lot of feel good stories with the Flames this season so it was nice to see Shinkaruk make a good impression in his debut.

- T.J. Brodie continues to be better at hockey than I am at anything. He broke up a couple plays with a good stick in the defensive zone, blocked a few shots, scored the insurance goal and skated circles around the Coyotes in the offensive zone on a few different shifts. He really needs to be on Team Canada.
- Sean Monahan recorded a goal and two assists in just 16 minutes of ice despite playing without his running mate Johnny Gaudreau.
The Bad
- Derek Grant played more than Bennett. Deryk Engelland played more than Mark Giordano and a hair less than Brodie. If that isn't a stealth tank I don't know what is.
- The Brandon Bollig - Matt Stajan - Lance Bouma line was absolutely caved in all night as, at full-strength, the Coyotes out attempted the Flames 13-3 with that trio on the ice.
- The Flames took four penalties. They allowed nine scoring chances and a pair of goals on said penalties. That's not even close to good enough.
Stat Of The Game
All 18 Coyotes skaters recorded at least one shot attempt.
