Even though Petry was just moved to Montreal from Pittsburgh, a write up by Mark Easson indicates that he may be available. With Pittsburgh already retaining 25% of Petry’s deal for the next 2 seasons, (and his bonus of 3 million already paid out) his tag of 4.69 m could go even lower in the right deal
I know there are mixed feelings on this player. I like Jeff and feel like he could be a second pairing right side D. Right now, Detroit doesn’t have a deal in place for Veleno and that may be a player that interests Montreal along with other pieces.
Let me know if you think that, should Jeff be available, Yzerman should kick the tires and see if there’s a good fit there. It will be interesting to see how things move now that Dumba and Karlsson are both taken care of in the current market.
