Another day another postponed Wild game. That makes four over the last two weeks and will have the Wild off for 12 days before they next take the ice at Target Field for the frigid Winter Classic.
The forecast is looking very January for the State of Hockey with night time temperature in the negative teens with winf being a factor for the 6PM local time puck drop.
So far no Wild player has tested positive for COVID-19 but the injury bug has claimed both Jared Spurgeon and Joel Eriksson Ek who will miss the NHL showcase game on New Year's evening.
St. Louis has five players in COVID-19 protocol, Robert Bortuzzo, James Neal, Ivan Barbashev, Dakota Joshua, and Oskar Sunqvist. Sunqvist's Covid protocol is retroactive to December 18th so he could be cleared to play but the others are un jeopardy of missing The Winter Classic.
No word on who will get the call up to replace Joel Eriksson Ek or Jared Spurgeon and if either replacement will dress for the game at Target Field.
The forward lines at practice were as follows:
Kaprizov - Hartman - Zuccarello Fiala - Gaudreau - Foligno Duhaime- Sturm - Greenway Pitlick- Rask - Bjugstad
