Wild Learning Through Adversity? (Wild)

Adversity is a necessity in how a team grows and matures into contenders.

The Wild are facing some of that currently and it will help to define them moving forward. This is not a push the panic button moment, it is an evaluate and make the necessary adjustments period.

The Wild are not as bad as they have looked over the last few weeks nor possibly as good as they performed through most of the first half of the season either. They have flaws and weaknesses that need to be addressed like every other team.

When they lose and struggle to dictate the flow of the game it magnifies those deficiencies in the process. Saturday's game saw the Flames take it to the Wild throughout the contest despite the late charge from the Wild.

Once again the extra attacker formula was a debacle and until the Wild clean up their puck possession game that will be a strategy that will continue to provide free stats for the Wild opponents.

I like Dean Evason's moxy and his ability to have his finger on the pulse of his club the majority of the season to date. He and his staff are also going through some learning curves as well.

Tomorrow night will be a much better Wild effort that is for certain, and the team will be focused in playing their game and not allowing the Flames the room they were afforded on Saturday night.

It is a long season and this is a key juncture for the Wild to learn about themselves and come out better through the experince.
