Yesterday the Wild were involved in the Ryan O'Reilly trade between the Blues and Maple Leafs. It is a peculiar move as the Wild took on 25% of O'Reilly's $7.5M salary or $1.875M.
Also involved was the Wild sending Josh Pillar their fourth round pick in 2021 to the Leafs in return the Wild receive Toronto's 4th round pick in 2025.
This appears to be a precursor for another move as why on earth would Bill Guerin take on salary to help Toronto and even worse, Central Division rival St. Louis?
We know Guerin has a plan that is evolving, however there needs to be some sort of urgency in which the club gets some useful parts that can make an impact now.
We have heard all about this rich prospect pool but most of them are multiple years away from even suiting up in a Wild sweater wasting away some of Kirill Kaprizov's best years.
