This had been the latest rumor after it was first thought the Wild would be grouped in the Central. For the Wild this is a better alignment both with geography and for opportunity to make the playoffs.
Yes the Avalanche, Golden Knights, and Blues will be tough opponents as will the Coyotes. However the Sharks, Kings, and Ducks are all in similar position with the Wild and should make for a very competitive schedule.
This is an interesting year for many reasons, but for the Wild it is a year of transition as new additions Kirill Kaprizov and Marco Rossi make their Wild debuts while several forwards are under contract with the Wild only through this season.
Bill Guerin is hard at work maneuvering the personnel and the reinforcements from within the organization bring renewed optimism that the future is closer than we all thought just one year ago.
