Wild Getting Ready: Zuccarello on the Shelf (Wild)

With the news that the NHL is looking at a January 13th start gives us some greater hope today. Many of the Wild players have been working out at TRIA already while others will be making their way to the State of Hockey very soon to begin their quarantine process before hitting the ice with their teammates.

One notable, Mats Zuccarello, will miss training camp and thw start of the season after having surgery to repair a torn tendon in his right arm. That is the same arm he broke a couple seasons back, but no word if this recent discovery is related. Either way the veteran winger will be sidelined indefinitely.

That will open the door for one of the Wild prospects to crack the lineup. Zuccarello is coming off his first season with the Wild after signing a 5-year, $30M deal in July 2019. That signing, was the work of former Wild GM, Paul Fenton prior to his abrupt dismissal later that Summer. Zuccarello had his worst offensive statistical season scoring just 15 goals and adding 22 assists.

The long awaited arrival of Kirill Kaprizov is upon us as the Russian winger is in town and getting acclimated tobhis new surroundings. He will soon join his new teammates on the ice at TRIA.

To say Kaprizov's presence is highly anticipated is quite the understatement. He has done everything he can outside of the NHL to warrant the hype, now we will see what he is capable of in the greatest league in the World.

Great news to start the day today with the projection of a start date for the season. Soon we will here "Let's Play Hockey".
