How often in life to you get a second chance? Would you take it?
We are almost a week in. We have seen every NHL team so far. How are you feeling about your picks so far? On a scale of 1-10...
There have been some surprises...I don't think anyone is rushing to Vegas to put money on the Knights as Cup Champs right now.... because it IS incredibly early...and that's why this is such a tricky choice. And yet, when you watch a team play a few games you can surely get a much better feel for them.
I went through my personal picks today and looked hard at them.
Looking at my picks for the Atlantic Division.
1. Toronto (liking this pick..A LOT) (my ranking of my pick so far (10) 2. Tampa (like this, but a little concerned they could fall further) (8) 3. Montreal (this feels dicey early on, losing to Wash and NYR not bad, 10 GA in 3 Games) (5) 4. Buffalo (I said I wasn't sure if they were there yet. Smoked by NJ?...5.00 GAA?!) (3) 5. Ottawa (This feels about right still) (8) 6. Boston (losing 4-0 to Colorado followed a great 4-3 win over Nash. Feels right) (8) 7. Detroit (defensively they look MUCH better than expected..but early) (7) 8. Florida (Two shootout battles with Tampa. Let's see) (7)
Looking at my picks for the Metro Division:
1. Pittsburgh (mulligan so far on Cup hangover) (9) 2. Columbus (not as sharp early as I though they might be) (7) 3. NY Islanders (risky pick...but they are young and inconsistent, but moments...played a good Blues team TOUGH) (7) 4. Washington (they were amazing in first two games...if Ovechkin is back for real...) (4) 5. Flyers (faster and deeper than I thought. Still think Neuvirth the guy) (9) 6. NY Rangers (about what I expected. Look like a bubble team) (9) 7. Carolina (only has played 1 game, but impressive win vs. Wild) (4) 8. NJ Devils ( 2-0 vs Avs and Sabres. Test Wednesday vs. Leafs) (6)
Avg ranking (given to me, BY ME) 6.94
I will be back around 5 with my look at the West...
