Good Sunday morning to you.

While the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships are occupying their home rink and practice rink, the Buffalo Sabres are on the road in New York City. When the NHL holiday hiatus lifted on Boxing Day, the Sabres chartered to the NYC metro area where they played the Islanders on Wednesday night and Devils on Friday night.

The Buffalo Sabres and NY Rangers will usher in 2018 when they battle in the Winter Classic on Monday afternoon.

Today is practice day at Citi Field in The Big Apple.

The Sabres have the ice reserved fro 10am until Noon.

Phil Housley has a practice scheduled. There will be time at the end for the players, coaches, management, support staff and their families to take twirls and phots on the beautiful outdoor rink.

The Sabres took the ice wearing their sexy new Christmas sweaters. They took a team picture to commemorate the auspicious occassion. They, the players changed into their practice sweaters and got to work. No need to soil the game sweaters today. That can wait until tomorrow.

I'm all about NHL teams wearing their white sweaters at home. Perhaps the NHL will revisit this policy in 2018. The Sabres are the home team at the Winter Classic and they are rocking their sexy white color scheme. Please give me more of the these sexy Sabres unis for the next thirty years. I love the shade of blue and how it contracts the gold. These sweaters are as close to the original Sabres color set up that we have seen in a long, long time. The Sabres entered teh NHL as a franchise in 1970, which means that their 50th anniversary celebration will begin 2 years from now. How fitting will it be if and when teh NHL grants the Sares permission to change their current color scheme back to one that closely resembles their 2018 Winter Classic set up? Make it happen, Gary Bettman. I cannot wait.

You've already heard about the new ride share service called Uber.

Have you heard about the new ride share service that is currenly sweeping North America?

It's called Ukko.

As in Ukko-Pekka Luukonen. The 18 year old tendy for Team Finland at the #WJCINBUF, was Buffalo's 2nd round draft choice in 2017. Ukko invented a unique mode of transortation from practice at Key Bank Center on Saturday.

Luukonen is having himself a fine tourney in Buffalo.

Luukonen and Team Finland will battle Casey Mittestadt, Brady Tkachuk and Team USA today at 4pm. The winner will own sole possession of second place in Group A. Canada currently occupies the #1 seed in the competitive Group A.

The World Junior Hockey Championships in Buffalo have been a very pleasurable experience thus far for the fans of international hockey. We have seen some great goals, huge hits, filthy dangle and awesome saves. We also were treated to a spectacular outdoor game for the ages on Friday when USA beat Canada in the shootout in a snow squall at the home of the NFL Buffalo Bills.

So many positive memories.

The only negative experience I can recall is this act of jackassery.

On Thursday, things got weird. Watch as the Key Bank Arena worker gets targeted by Team Czech. Some have said that the Czech players didn't see the worker as he was attempting to secure the net before warm-ups. I'm calling bull shift! They saw the rink worker in the net. I think the Czech players thought they were at the golf driving range and played the old "let's aim at the unsuspecting range guy picking up the balls in his cage cart" routine.

To almost hit an unprotected kid in the head with hot wrist shot is greasy.

To whip two more shots at him during warm-ups is punk behavior. Its stupid, reckless and arrogant. The rink worker was there to do a job. Does he look enthused and amused as he's beating on the glass to be allowed to leave the ice surface? I think his slamming the door and screaming expletives speaks volumes. The worker was bullied by a couple of "hot shot" punks in his place of business.

On Saturday, cooler heads prevailed when two members of Team Czech approached the rink hand (with a Czech camera crew in two, of course) and offered a mea culpa to the rink worker. Looks like a fabricated photo op and a PR move to me. My guess is the management and coaches from Team Czech read the hundreds hot takes crushing the Czech players for their idiot behavior on Twitter and Instagram. Methinks the olive branches that were extended from the players were mandated by the team manager and head coach.
