Quick hits on a Sunday...
The New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres are once again talking Evander Kane. "Talks have increased from "exploratory to serious," according to one NHL source. Kane, a free agent next summer, has 12 goals and 23 points in 24 games for the Sabres this season.
Also, the Canadiens are getting tons of calls on captain Max Pacioretty, but I am told most offers have been "borderline ridiculous." The one exception being the LA Kings. The Kings put a "top quality D man + a serious big forward prospect" on the table.
