The San Jose Sharks played three games this week and a prospect scored his first NHL goal. Here’s a recap of news and notes from week.

SHARKS LOSE ALL THREE GAMES

San Jose lost all three of their games this week, getting swept by the Vegas Golden Knights before losing a game to the Minnesota Wild later on Saturday. The Sharks have now lost eight games in a row and have just nine games remaining in the season.

MARLEAU BREAKS GAMES PLAYED RECORD

Last Monday, Patrick Marleau set a new record for the most games played in NHL history. With Marleau’s 1768th game, he passed Gordie Howe, who played his final game over 40 years ago.

BLICHFELD SCORES FIRST NHL GOAL

Forward Joachim Blichfeld scored his first NHL goal in Saturday’s game against the Minnesota Wild. Blichfeld has spent the majority of the season in the AHL, scoring 12 goals and 22 points in 25 games and Saturday marked his sixth NHL game.
