Working on a big update but wanted to chime in first on the NHL fining San Jose's Marc-Edouard Vlasic for his slash on Kyle Turris. Their fight itself wasn't much. To be honest, I was a little surprised that Vlasic didn't get a one-game suspension from the incident. I agree with HockeyBuzz's officiating/league discipline blogger Paul Stewart that a $5,000 fine is no deterrent to players at today's salaries.
