On Ian Cole…
Today’s trade of Sami Vatanen showed just how much a team can get for a top 4 level defender…a HELL of a lot. Henrique is a player…make no mistake about it…Cole has a reasonable salary hit for this season and a ton of playoff experience..He won’t come cheap, and he won’t likely go to another team in the Metro…So far I have heard Chicago, Buffalo, Edmonton, and Colorado…some are saying Vegas…I have not heard that one yet..
On Andrei Markov…
Markov has an out clause in his contract that kicks in after the Olympics, just in time for an NHL return.. Some feel he could be coming back to the Habs…I guess anything is possible. but I don’t get a sense that it would be the case…Things didn’t exactly end well..and besides all of that Markov hasn’t exactly been tearing up the KHL. His numbers are very weak for the amount of money he is getting… I have heard Toronto, Nashville, Vegas and Washington with interest…The Knights will be looking for playoff experience on a short term basis…
On Mike Green…
The Red Wings are still very much in the playoff hunt as of now, but here is a player I hear most connected to Montreal…and Edmonton…Chiarelli is very actively pursuing a D man and may not be willing to wait to see if Detroit stays in the hunt however…
More to come including the Rumor Chart Launch…
