Despite not playing in almost a month, he is skating, and there is a market for d….however teams need to know if he will be well enough to play or the price will be incredibly low. The Canadiens have been cautious and realize the asset they have here… The reality is he needs to get in a game for teams to be comfortable…however his playoff play in the past makes him extremely intriguing. I believe he is at the top of the Penguins list for sure…But they have looked at Jake McCabe alot recently in case…
On Erik Karlssson….
The hot rumor is Karlsson has agreed to go to Edmonton and waive his NMC. This was made public as the pressure continues to mount locally in town. The Oilers fans are salivating at Paul Coffey v 2.0. The deal is coming down to getting a third team involved to help with the salary hit. The Canucks are willing to take on money. And be a broker, but they are understandably hesitant to help out the Sharks and Oilers…I could see Columbus or even Detroit getting involved.
On Patrick Kane…
Since the world starting questioning Kane’s value and health, and since the Rangers and Leafs both made moves Kane is showing exactly why he could be the best trade deadline pickup of all time. Since the Rangers trade happened Kane has 7 goals and 3 assists….10 points in 4 games. Kane really wants to go to the Rangers eventually. That is the worst kept secret ever… The Rangers made a big move, but I keep hearing they are circling back to Kane and trying to find a way with a third team to get him on board…. Meanwhile, the Golden Knights moved Shea Webers money last night and with Stone out they are extremely interested in Kane. They also want to add a goalie and have interest in Jake Allen or Jonas Korpisalo…. The Devils are a wildcard here…as are the Panthers… Also, Anaheim cleared some spade today and could be a facilitator…
On Timo Meier….
The Devils will have the final shot at Meier I believe. But currently the price is still too high…The Devils will NOT give up Dawson Mercer in the deal and that is the ask right now I am told. The Senators cleared out 6M in space yesterday and are interested in Meier, but their top interest is Chychrun…Keep an eye out on the Blues…They are not trading away to build in the future,,,They never do. They have the assets to get Chychrun or Kane.
