UPDATE:

Domi has been put on the seven-day IR, and the team has recalled Dauphin and DeAngleo.

Via: Craig Morgan.

Glad to see DeAngleo back, and it's ridiculous Domi was hurt in a fight.

The Coyotes have made a trade, they play a game, and they are on a losing streak that the kids would call epic. Well the kids in 2008, anyways.

The Streak.

AKA the Steak (for those of you who enjoy horrible typos in the title) - The Coyotes have lost six games in a row. However, in reality, things are much worse than that.

If not for taking down the Oilers in back-to-back game last month that they had no business winning, the Coyotes would be on a 15 game losing streak.

15 games? Nearly 20% of the schedule? That's almost as hard to believe as a bunch of irresponsible and uniformed people electing a Reality TV Star as their President...something that doesn't get any less terrifying with each passing day.........also worth noting: there is only one other job where every gets the suffix 'star' whether or not they're any good. Just saying.

As for the Coyotes, they've lost 13 of 15 games and that is crazy. Due to the NHL's fun-time points awarding system, the Coyotes are somehow tied with the Avs in points, despite the Avs having two more games in one less game played.

Now two wins doesn't sound like a lot, but that's 25% of the Coyotes win total.

Yikes.

Inuries

OEL was hit from behind last game and had to go get a concussion test, but he is expected to play tonight vs Nashville.

The Predators are a crazy-good team and this is all but a guarantee to continue the losing streak. Max Domi, injured in a fight with a potentially broken orbital bone (and I saw people refer to this as an upper body injury...JFC....) is probably not going to play.

Max Domi is the Coyotes best winger and he should be benched, in my opinion, for getting into a fight. There is absolutely no reason your best player should be getting hurt in a fight.

What's it gonna do? Pump up the team for ten minutes? Is that worth six weeks without your best player? I think he'll be fine and only miss a game while the swelling comes down, but this is pretty stupid.

Trade

The Coyotes send a conditional sixth rounder to the Leafs for Centre Peter Holland. Holland is actually a good player, and I think this is a pretty smart trade.

He never got a lot of ice time with the Leafs, but he scored a decent p/60 when he did play. I think he'll likely get a chance to be the #2 C on the Coyotes and there is a decent shot he becomes a huge steal. He's only 25 and has offensive talent.

Essentially this is a no-risk/ high-reward move: The Best Kind!

He costs a conditional 6th pick and the Coyotes will only have to pay him 800K. If they don't sign or trade him, he costs them nothing.
