The big game is here. On Thursday night, the final championship game of the 2025 Four Nations tournament is set to take place between the United States of America and Canada. A Saturday night rematch with our northern neighbors.
The U.S. was upset by Sweden 2-1 in regulation after all three goals were scored in the first period.
A Zach Werenski rebound was hit in off Chris Kreider’s twig for his first goal of the tournament in his first shift of the games. Werenski tied Crosby with 5 points through 3 games to lead the scoring overall. Eichel had the secondary assist.
Former Jackets’ winger Gustav Nyquist had his first of the games from Erik Karlsson and Viktor Arvidsson. Jesper Bratt got the winner with 56 seconds left in the first for his first only tournament goals from William Nylander.
Samuel Ersson had 32 saves on 33 shots for a 0.960 save percentage. Jake Otteinger had 21 saves on 23 shots for a 0.913 save percentage.
Zach Werenski is so silky. What a skater. Looks like Scott Niedermayer out there. Best all around D Man on US Squad.

Zach Werenski (0-5—5) matched Derian Hatcher (3-2—5 in 6 GP at 1996 WCH) for the second-most points by an 🇺🇸 defenseman at a single NHL International Tournament.
