UPDATED: Tampa Bay Lightning Deadline Day News Tracker (Lightning)

The 2017 NHL Trade Deadline day is finally here!

The Tampa Bay Lightning have already had a busy couple of days trading Ben Bishop to Los Angeles and Brian Boyle to Toronto. The most obvious deals are already done but that does not mean the Steve Yzerman is through making deals.

I will be updating this post throughout the day as news comes in. Stay tuned and thank you for reading!

Filppula Rejects Trade to Toronto

The Bolts would love to deal away Valtteri Filppula and his $5 million dollar cap hit. It was reported by Canada's TVA Sports that Filppula was a part of a bigger deal with the Maple Leafs but rejected the trade. The details of the trade were not released.

Filppula has a list of 13 teams he cannot be traded to. You can bet that Yzerman and the Bolts will be busy trying to move him to a desirable destination before the 3:00 p.m ET deadline.

Adam Wilcox to Panthers for Mike McKenna

This is far from an exciting deal but the two Florida teams have exchanged AHL netminders. Tampa decides to bring in an older netminder to Syracuse. McKenna is 33, as opposed to Wilcox who is 24.

Tampa Bay Lightning Acquire Mark Streit from Flyers for Filppula

The Bolts have acquired veteran blueliner, Mark Streit, from the Flyers. The 39-year-old Streit will be an unrestricted free-agent this summer.

By trading away Filppula, Tampa Bay frees up $5 million in cap space for next year. The Lightning also send a fourth-round and conditional seventh-round pick in this year's draft to Philadelphia.

Streit Flipped to Penguins

Well, Mark Streit was not a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning for an hour. The Lightning flipped their most recent acquisition to Pittsburgh for a fourth-round pick in the 2018 draft.
