We had another winning night this past Sunday, but the STL loss was a tough one to lose on a penalty shot in OT! Even though tonight is a big card, I'm not big on it plus you have teams starting road trips or returning from road trips. I find it's easier to get a handle on these teams as these trips plays out throughout the week. Let's see if we can find a few winners. We have a 13 game card tonight with the game analysis below for tonight's games.
**You will see a couple of new angle features thanks to our readers here who requested some great info on angles that I will track the rest of the season!** **1st angle is how teams fare off road trips. 2nd angle is how teams fare when it comes to the over/under while on road trips. It's a small sample size but you can start to see a few trends with these stats** **I will post my info that I compiled on teams in back to back game situations as it comes up each night. I will post all records each time it occurs** …‹…‹ **Lehner/Swayman goalies** Vegas is off a big home win over Minny and has won 4 of their last 5 games as they start this 4 game east coast road trip. The Bruins are off a quick 3 game west coast road trip, after this game they go back out on the road for another 3 game roadie. Small lean to Vegas +115, surprised the Bruins are a fav -135.
**Quick/Vasilevsky goalies** TB is off a tough 8-day road trip but they went 4-1 and had their 5 game win streak snapped by Ottawa. The angle of playing against teams off 5 game roadies or more fits the system, small lean to LA +170. No way I could lay -200 on TB! Both teams go under the total a lot as well, small lean to the under.
**Blackwood/Hart goalies** The Flyers are trending up and may have finally turned the corner, can they win 3 in a row for the first this season? NJ trending down, the Devils have lost 9 of their last 12 games and lack an identity. Strong lean to Philly -125.
**Allen/Jarry goalies** Montreal is terrible on the road, take a look at their injury list and covid protocol list and they are down 10 players. The last time the Habs were in Pitt they won 6-3, that won't happen again. Pitt has won has 4 in a row and playing some great hockey while Montreal has lost 6 in a row. Pens -278 is steep so maybe play the PL here.
**Forsberg/Knight goalies** The Sens have won 4 of their last 5 games and are trending up but they play at Florida, the Panthers are the best home team in the NHL. But they are off a huge game in Colorado and could have let down here, taking Ottawa lightly and the Panthers are banged up too. Ottawa +240 is tempting, Florida -300 no thanks!
**Sorokin/Nedeljkovic goalies** NYI at Detroit is a tough game to get a handle on as I keep waiting for the Isles to get their act together but Detroit is a very good home team this season. Both teams have gone over the total a lot lately. Detroit has been very streaky, they have now lost 3 in a row after winning 5 in a row but the Wings have been off since Friday. Small lean to Detroit here at even money! NYI is the fav -120 in this one.
**GAME CANCELLED** Carolina at Minny is one of the better matchups tonight as the Canes are very good on the road but the Wild are great at home. The Canes have 4 key players out in covid protocol so be aware. Carolina is playing their 5th game in 8 nights on the road while Minny is off 4 in 6 on the road. Lean to the under here and the Wild -130 as a small fav.
**Luukkonen/Hellebuyck goalies** Buffalo is trending down big time having 11 of their 12 games, including 7 straight! This will be the Jets only game this week as they've been off since Friday, after this one, they are off until Friday with Washington in town. Lean to the Jets on the PL, not at -254.
**Lindgren/Oettinger goalies** The Blues are down to their 3rd and 4th goalies, while being without 9 players! STL will be playing their 4th in 6 nights. Dallas is terrific at home but have lost 3 in a row after winning 7 in a row. The Stars get back on track at home, strong lean to Dallas -161.
**Georgiev/Kuemper goalies** The other big matchup tonight is NYR at Colorado as less than a week ago the Avs steamrolled the Rangers in NY by a score of 7-3. The Avs have won 4 in a row while the Rangers have lost 2 of their last 3 due in part to a brutal schedule. NYR has had a road game, then a home game, rotating over the last 5 games now so travel is definitely an advantage here for Colorado. But the Avs are -200, way to steep a price. NYR +170 might be worth a shot?!
**Merzlikins/Demko goalies** Vancouver has won 4 in a row under Boudreau and ends the homestand tonight against a struggling Jackets team. CLB has lost 6 of their last 8 and 5 of those losses have come on the road. The Canucks are still undervalued so grab them at a nice price while you can as Vegas hasn't caught up to them. Strong lean to Vancouver -149.
**Campbell/Koskinen goalies** Toronto and Edmonton are both dealing with a ton of injuries while the Leafs have lost 3 of their last 5 games. Plus Toronto will be off until Saturday night as the Flames game is postponed due to a covid outbreak. The Oilers have lost 5 in a row and trending down big time and are actually dogs at home +105. Taking a pass on this game, better games on the board.
**Dreiger/Reimer goalies** Seattle just got hit by covid as well, losing 3 guys at center! This is a team that has no depth being an expansion team, so being depleted down the middle will hurt the Kraken! Seattle is terrible on the road and SJ is on a 7 game homestand having won 2 of their first 3 at home. The Sharks are undervalued here at -145, but they are finally getting healthy, strong lean to SJ!
