Last night, favs and home teams were 3-1. 1st period overs were 4-0 and game totals went over at a 3-1 clip. Vegas pulled off a huge win in OT and Seattle won as a +300 dog, I had said in my blog yesterday that the Kraken were worth a shot as a dog. We have a huge card tonight and I must say, I really like the card, analysis below. As always, I will post goalie info in the comment section throughout the day.
PHI/MTL - The Habs have won both head to head meetings this year as dogs 4-2/3-2. Small lean to MTL -135.
DET/FL - The Panthers have nothing to play for and have won all 3 head to head with Detroit 3-2/6-2/6-1. Pass for me.
BUFF/NJ - The Devils are off a 5 game roadie in which they went a nice 3-2. The Sabres have been off since Sunday night, 3-1 in their last 4 games. NJ won the first 2 meetings head to head. Lean to BUFF +110.
BOS/PITT - This is huge a game for both teams. Pitt wants to keep their 3rd spot in the Metro Division while Boston wants to get out of the wildcard spot. The Bruins just knocked off the Pens on Saturday 2-1, now they go on the road to Pitt off a huge OT win over STL. Pitt has been off since Saturday and won in Boston 4-3 back in February. Lean to Pitt -120.
WIN/CAR - The Jets are out of the playoffs and the Canes need this win to stay in contention for the Division title. CAR won at WIN earlier this season 4-2. Lean to CAR -256 , big!
NYR/NYI - The Rangers are 7-3 in their last 10 games while the Isles are 5-5 during the same stretch. NYR wants to win the division and play a wildcard team rather than play Pitt in the first round. All three games have gone under the total head-to-head this season. NYI won both at NYR and the Rangers won in Long Island 4-1 back in November. Lean to NYR -128.
TOR/TB - The Lightning is in must win mode so they don't fall into the wildcard spot for the playoffs. This could be a first round match up in the playoffs and TB is a much better home team. TOR is 8-2 in their last 10 games while TB is 4-6 during the same stretch. TB is on a 5 game homestand and TOR is starting a 4 game road trip. Head to head, they split the first two in Toronto, but the Leafs won at TB earlier this month 6-2. Lean to TB -120.
VAN/MIN - The Wild are terrific at home and are playing for home-ice advantage in the first round. The Canucks have no room for error, they can't lose if they want to catch anyone ahead of them in standings for a playoff spot. The Wild have won both meetings this year 3-2 and 5 of their last 6 games at home. Lean to MIN -175 and under 6.
DAL/CAL - The Stars have lost the first 2 on the roadie with both going over the total. Both teams have won in the other team's barn head to head this year, both going over the total. The Flames have nothing to play for but Dallas is playing their 3rd in 4 nights on the road. Lean to the more desperate team in Dallas +185, rather than Calgary -225.
CHI/LA - The Hawks won 4-3 in OT last night in AZ. The Kings sat rested and desperately need this win to keep their playoff spot. The Hawks have gone over the total in 6 straight games. Both games have gone over the total head to head this year with LA winning at CHI 5-2 just a week ago. Huge lean to LA -238.
STL/SJ - The Blues just had their 9 game win streak snapped at home in OT to Boston the other night. STL needs this win to keep pace with Minny, to have home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Sharks snapped their 9 game losing streak over CLB the other night. STL has won both meetings this season head to head 4-1/5-1. Huge lean to STL -195.
