Well, it's good to be back and I will be back posting daily like I did most of the year! Let's find us some winners on this 12 game card tonight. Analysis below. Be sure to check the comment section later in the day for starting goalie info.
OTT/BOS - The Bruins need this win to stay out of the 2nd wild card spot and they have Pitt at home on deck. All the Sens wins over the last few weeks have come against nonplayoff teams and are terrible on the road. The Bruins won both meetings in Ottawa this year, both going under the total, and are now without their 2 best defensemen in Chabot and Zub. Lean to BOS -279 or on the PL -115.
STL/BUFF - The Sabres have played very good hockey over the last month and even better at home. STL is hot, winning 6 in a row and 8 of their last 9 games after losing 5 of 6 games. The Blues have MIN on deck at home, then at Nashville both division rivals, then Boston. Lean to BUFF +173 even though they are off a tough 4 game roadie.
WSH/TOR - The Leafs won in WSH earlier this year 5-3 and have won 7 of their last 9 games. The Caps have won 4 in a row and 6 of their last 8 games. WSH is starting a tough 5 game roadie tonight. Lean to TOR -161.
ANA/TB - TB has lost 5 of their last 6 games and the Ducks are just dreadful! TB needs this win badly for playoff position. The Ducks actually beat the Lightning 5-1 at home in January and this will be the last game of a 4 game roadie. Lean to TB PL -145.
NYI/PITT - NYI is 6-4 in their last 10 games, while the Pens are 3-7. The Isles just beat Pitt the other night 5-4SO and are back on the road after a 5 game roadie, then the home win over Pitt. PITT won 1-0 earlier this year in NYI. This one is a pass for me as the Pens are struggling and have BOS on deck. PITT -160 is too high for a team going in the wrong direction.
DET/CAR - The Wings are 2-8 in their last 10 games. The Canes are 7-9 in their last 16 games and have COL on deck on the road. I can't back either team right now but both games have gone over the total head-to-head this season. Lean to over 6.5.
EDM/NSH - After winning 6 in a row, the Oilers have lost their last 2 games and gone under the total in 4 straight as have the Preds. EDM won both games head to head at home this year 3-2/5-2. The Preds are on a 5 game homestand but have been very inconsistent lately, winning 2 games and then losing 2 games. Small lean to NSH -110.
MIN/DAL - The Stars are off a huge 1-0 win over TB at home the other night and they need these wins to stay in the playoff picture. DAL is much better at home while MIN isn't as good on the road. All three games have gone over the total this season head to head. DAL has won 2 of the 3 meetings this season, splitting on the road and winning at home. Lean to DAL at even money at home.
SJ/CHI - Both teams going in the wrong direction and playing out the string. CHI has lost 8 in a row and SJ has lost 7 in a row. SJ won at CHI 2-0 earlier in the season. Pass for me with far better games on the board!
NJ/COL - Avs played last night against LA while NJ rested on their 5 game road trip in which they've won the first 2 games. Avs have won 7 in a row, but will they take it easy with CAR on deck. COL PL -133, small lean.
VEG/CAL - The Flames have won 5 in a row, 4 of those coming on the road, while VEG lost at VAN to start their 3 game Western Canada roadie. CAL beat VEG 6-0 at home earlier this year. The Knights are far more desperate and got their two top forwards back last game out. Small lean to VEG +140.
AZ/VAN - The Canucks will probably have to win every game left on their schedule to make the playoffs and have won 4 in a row while AZ has lost 4 in a row. The Yotes are 2-8 in their last 10 games for a reason, they have the longest injury list in the NHL. Huge lean to VAN PL -110.
