Thursday Night Pix - 4 Plays!!! UPDATED GOALIES!!! (capping)

Last night 0-2 -2.41 Units YTD 71-55-2 +14.71 Units

After a small card last night, we have an 11 game slate tonight but I'm not super big on it. There are a few good spots for teams, but as the day goes along when lines move we might find some better value after an 0-2 night. Chicago got outplayed badly last night in the last 2 periods by Seattle and if it wasn't for Fleury, they lose the game. You can't handicap for a hot goalie and that is what happened on that play, plain and simple. The Canucks continue to struggle but I stayed away from it, so congrats to those who hit the Avs. LA got stoned by Samsonov on some incredible chances, the Caps scored with less than 4 minutes to go and added an empty netter like Chicago to get the 2 goal win. It was one of those nights. Here are my game notes for tonight below.

**Markstrom vs. Tokarski in goal** The Flames are playing their 5th game in 8 nights on the road at Buffalo. Calgary has been a very good road team to start the season while Buffalo has surprised everyone, but their home record is a big reason for it. Sabres +154 is a nice price for this dog. Small lean to Buffalo.

Two of the hottest teams meet up tonight when the NYR visit Toronto. The Rangers have been terrific on the road and the Leafs have been super at home, so something has to give! NY and Toronto have both won 4 in a row, but the Leafs have won 9 of their last 10. I am surprised that the Leafs are -175, as both teams are very similar. Small lean to the Rangers +155.

**Jarry vs. Primeau in goal** The Pens are finally healthy as only Malkin is out of their lineup, while the Habs are really banged up as the injury list continues to grow! Both are struggling having lost 8 of their last 10 games. Pitt is a small fav at -155 due to how they've played lately. Small lean to Pitt.

**Blackwood vs. Knight in goal** The Devils at Florida is a game I will stay away from. Panthers snapped their 4 games losing streak 2 nights ago but lost Barkov last game out. Florida -185 is too high juice for me, even though they will want revenge over the Devils from last week when they lost 7-4 in NJ.

**Vasilevsky vs. Hart in goal** For the last 9 games, the Flyers have rotated win, then a loss. They have been such an inconsistent team, at some point, the talent on this team has to figure out. TB has won 6 of their last 8 games after a slow to the season. Lean to the Flyers as a small dog at home +110.

**Reimer vs. Husso in goal** The Sharks are playing their 5th game in 9 nights on the road in St. Louis. The Blues are off a horrible loss at home to the worst team in the league in Arizona and have now lost 4 in a row. I'm looking for STL to be ready from the drop of the puck after the loss to the Yotes. Blues -161 is the play here.

Khudobin vs. Talbot in goal** I truly think Dallas has turned the corner finally, they have so much talent and have looked very good the last 2 games after a very slow start to the season. Minny has been very consistent too, picking up from where they left off last year. Still, I lean to the Stars as a small dog at +120.

**Updated - Stuart Skinner starting in goal for the Oilers** Hellebuyck for the Jets** The Oilers return from a 5 game roadie and I usually always say, bet against any team in that spot. But, the Oilers are off a loss to the rival Jets and they get that same team again tonight in revenge mode. The Jets are playing great hockey though, but they are average on the road compared to the Oiler's home record. Oilers -159 but Jets +132 in this one, I will watch the line movement on this one ready up on what's happening with starting goalies throughout the day. I will be back to post a few other plays tonight.

**Merzlikins vs. Wedgewood in goal**Columbus at AZ, yawn! The Jackets are very good at home, average on the road and the Yotes are off a win! Pass for me.

The Wings are playing their 3rd in 4 nights on the road, but Vegas is soooo banged up! Vegas is without 3 of their top 4 defensemen and has a few more out now with covid. Detroit is miserable on the road, a small lean to Vegas here only because of the injuries, otherwise, I would be playing this bigger.

**Anderson vs. Gibson in goal** Carolina is 6-1 on the road this season and they visit Anaheim who has been terrific at home 7-2-1. The Canes are the best defensive team in hockey and are playing the hottest team in hockey in Anaheim who has won 8 in a row! Lean to the Canes because of their depth and how great they play defensively at -145.

The following numbers from last night were requested by all the Draft Kings reader's here, so I hope all of you that read the column daily can use them to your advantage - Total goals last night - 14(Home - 2/Road - 10) Total PP goals last night - 4 Total SH goals last night - 0 Favs were 2-1 last night, 29-5 the last 5 nights. **Another prop to try is empty-net goals, you would be surprised how many are scored each night as coaches tend to pull the goalie earlier than if down 1 or 2 goals.

Home teams are now 140-105. Over/Under the total is 111-125-7 on the year. Teams in back-to-back consecutive road games are now 25-18-1 over/under the total. Teams rested the night before when their opponent plays the prior night are 30-17. Home teams in their home openers are 20-11 on the season. (NYI only team left to play their home opener) East vs West games, East 49-39 over the Western Conference. Teams playing 3 in 4 nights on the road, bet against in 3rd game - 15-5 Teams playing 4 in 6 nights on the road, bet against in 4th game - 13-3 Teams off 5 game roadie or more, bet against them. 6-3 Teams playing 5 in 8 nights on the road, bet against them in 5th game - 4-1 (Seattle/SJ/AZ/EDM)(Calgary won in this spot vs Philly) Teams playing in their 6th straight road game, bet against them. 1-1

Playing all for 1 Unit each unless specified -

Flyers - ML(+110) STL - ML(-161) Vegas - ML(-169) Canes - ML(-147)
