Throwing Nylander out with the bathwater? More Flyers Firings (NHL Trade Rumors. Hockey Rumors)

Update:

Flyers President Paul Holmgren announced this morning that Dir. of Player Personnel and Asst. GM Chris Pryor, and Defensive Asst Coach Gord Murphy have both been relieved of their duties. He added" We do not anticipate any further personnel moves in the near term."

I am hearing today could be a very big day in this, a few days from the December 1st....Everyone's favorite holiday...Let's Call it "RFA Deadline Day."

Regardless....If William Nylander isn't signed by 5pm on December 1 he will have to sit out the entire season...Currently, depending on who is reporting it, the two sides are around $300,000 bucks...Which if true is quite frankly....absurd...and the if true...the Leafs are betting Nylander won't pass up a contract of over $30Million for 1% or $300,000...

This whole situation has reached beyond lunacy, and while I can't imagine Nylander being willing to miss the rest (3/4 of over $6 million) to take some kind of stand over $300k you must remember he is a Nylander...And Nylanders are stubborn...

Now, as I wrote before, I am hearing it is more complicated than a $300,000 to $1,000,000 difference.. ...I keep hearing that the sticking point is more about signing bonus and how much Nylander will take home this year....The Leafs don't want to set a precedent that a player can sit out 1/4th to the season and not at least feel that in the wallet...

As for the trade route:

It now appears like LA is holding out and not willing to part with Kyle Clague....the defenseman the Leafs want and the single player I am hearing gets this done. There are some out there saying the Flyers are possibly interested in Nylander, but I am hearing the Flyers are looking to improve elsewhere...which will be my afternoon blog...

MUCH more to come...Happy HockeyDays!
