I spoke to a source two weeks ago, just before all this craziness went down, that there was some new hope regarding the return of the NHL to the great city of Quebec. I have never had any doubt at all that this was inevitable, and in fact I was told it was the Quebec ownership group who had a few options...and would pick their time to return based on the Canadian dollar...
I was told the time was coming soon and would be within the next five years...the only question would be if Quebec would return as an expansion team or as a result of another NHL franchise relocating as the Thrashers had to Winnipeg... The latter feels more likely to most. The NHL will likely stay as 32 teams...after the release of the Kraken...
Speaking of which...come on Seattle! We need something here man! Just make the name official already...give us something to talk about!!!
Anyway...back to the city that doesn't yet have an NHL team...but does for sure have a name...

And also, the most kickass of uniforms...The Nordiques must be called the Nordiques and they must be in the classic uniforms...The uniforms that remain one of my top 5 NHL uniforms of all time...

The Nordiques may not have been in the NHL for very long, but they had a strong team for a while, before beginning a rebuild that would culminate with a Stanley Cup...as the Colorado Avalanche...
