I’ve shared some videos from ‘The Hockey Guy’ in the past. If you’re not familiar, he’s a huge hockey fan that runs a pretty successful little YouTube channel that’s chock-full of in-depth coverage from around the league.
One thing he does every year is give a detailed look at each team in the NHL and share his opinion on how he thinks they will do during the upcoming season based on criteria such previous season success, injuries, signings, cap space, trades, coaching, etc., etc…
Below is his prediction for the 2023-24 Panthers:
Despite what a lot of people may feel, I think the defense has been improved. Add that aspect to strong offensive lines, and I’m feeling pretty good heading into the new year.
With the team improving all around, the big question mark now really lies in the blue paint…
I believe Bob has settled into Florida and found his game. As THG said, a lot of the regular season games weren’t indicative of his play, but more so the (poor) defensive play in front of him. So I do think we can count on Bob to be a lot more consistent during the regular season now that there is a bit steadier blue line in front of him. - especially when you factor in the tremendous postseason he had.
Now we ask ourselves who steps up to be a reliable backup, someone to split 50-32 with Bob, as THG suggests.
My money is on the big man, Anthony Stolarz. _____________________
Go Panthers!
