A few remarkable things happened last night.
1) The Coyotes won a game.
They had previously won only one of their last eight games. So that is cool!
They beat the Avs 6-4.
2) The Coyotes won in regulation.
They haven't done that in a while. December fourth against the LA Kings was the last time.
Not bad boys!
Considering the Coyotes recently inquired about my availability, it goes without saying that they are hurting for healthy bodies. Injuries happen, but to the Coyotes they happen frequently and without mercy.
As far as I know, no one from last night's game will be heading to the IR.
4) They scored more than four goals.
That hasn't happened since December first. It happened twice in October, and zero times in November.
Which is why:
a) The Coyotes have been shutout a league record 146 times this season.
Actually, they have been shut-out five times.
And, just for fun, they have eight games where they only scored one goal.
In 35 games, the Coyotes 13 games where they have scored one or less goals. That is more than one third of their games.
b) Brad Richardson became the first Coyotes player this year to reach the....................................................wait for it...................................................................................................Ten goal mark!
Oh man. I don't know what's worse - that Brad Richardson leads the team with goals, or that it took them 35 games to have someone reach that "milestone."
Just for fun, do you know how long it took Auston Matthews to get to ten goals?
Six games.
Good times indeed.
The Coyotes will play the Sharks tonight.
