For all the lack of drama in the east, the West keeps getting crazier and crazier… Last night, it tightened even more with Vancouver winning their 6th straight and Vegas losing a HUGE game at home to NJ.
Here is where we are now….
There are two battles…
One is for the Wildcard Currently the Preds and Stars are sitting at 91 points with 6 games to go The Knights are at 87 with 5 games left The Canucks are at 86 with 6 games left. It also should be noted that the Kings are at 90 with 5 games left, but currently in the playoffs with the third spot in the West.
Looking at the Schedules…
The Preds may have it toughest 5 playoff teams in 6 games. The Preds host Calgary tonight. Go to Tampa Saturday Host Minnesota Sunday Next week they Host Calgary again and finish off in Colorado and Arizona…
The Stars meanwhile… Visit Edmonton and Calgary on Wed, Thurs… Then end with 4 home games. Vegas, Seattle, Arizona and Anaheim

The Kings hold the cards but aren’t playing their best as of late,… The Knights are struggling in their last few as they integrate so many players back into the lineup The Canucks are crazy HOT winning 6 in a row.
On the Kings The Kings are in Anaheim tonight. Host Chicago on Thursday and Anaheim in Saturday… Then they end on the road in Seattle and finally in Vancouver
On the Knights… Vegas Hosts Washington tomorrow, and then San Jose on Sunday… before ending on the road next week with three games in four nights against Dallas, Chicago and St. Louis.
On the Canucks… The Canucks host Ottawa tonight. Go to Minnesota and Calgary on Thursday and Saturday. Then end with three games in four nights next week Seattle and LA at home before ending in Edmonton next Friday…
So how do I see this playing out?
So many things can happen, but if I am forced to predict…
I see Vancouver grabbing the third spot in the West, with Dallas finishing in the top Wildcard and LA finishing in the second Wildcard…. Perhaps Vegas can grab that second Wildcard…but I think th least two losses are too much to overcome…
